Social Worker / Experienced Social Worker – Children in Care Team (Permanent)

 

Location: Medway Council, Chatham (Hybrid working available)

Salary: £39,823 – £43,435 Social Worker / £43,426 – £47,434 Experienced Social Worker

Market Supplement of £5,000 (Social Worker) or £5,500 (Experienced Social Worker)

Annual Retention of £2,000 (Social Worker) or £3,000 (Experienced Social Worker)

Contract: Permanent

 

Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Medway Council to recruit Social Workers and Experienced Social Workers to join their Children in Care Teams.

 

Medway combines a competitive core salary with a market supplement and annual retention payment that together take the overall package to over £55,000 for experienced practitioners, within a service that has invested seriously in workforce stability and practice support.

 

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Children in Care Team, you will:

Manage children subject to child in need and child protection plans, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.

Complete high-quality, strengths-based assessments that clearly analyse risk, need, and protective factors.

Build purposeful and trusting relationships with children, young people, and families.

Develop and review safety and support plans that reduce risk and promote family resilience.

Prepare clear, analytical reports for conferences, reviews, and court where required.

For Experienced Social Workers: offer guidance and support to less experienced colleagues.

 

About You

You will be a committed and capable practitioner with:

A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.

Post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.

Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Confidence working with complexity, risk, and multi-agency partners.

A clear commitment to relationship-based and strengths-led practice.
